Edward Louis Filippine (born 1930) is a United States federal judge.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Filippine received an A.B. from Saint Louis University in 1951 and a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1957. He was a U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1953. He was in private practice in Clayton and St. Louis, Missouri from 1957 to 1962. He was in private practice in Clayton, Missouri from 1962 to 1967. He was a Special assistant state attorney general of Missouri from 1963 to 1964. He was in private practice in Clayton and St. Louis, Missouri from 1967 to 1969. He was in private practice in St. Louis, Missouri from 1969 to 1977. He was a Staff assistant, U.S. Sen. Thomas Eagleton, St. Louis, Missouri from 1969 to 1974. He was a Campaign director, U.S. Sen. Thomas Eagleton in 1974.
Filippine was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Filippine was nominated by President Jimmy Carter on June 22, 1977, to a seat vacated by John K. Regan. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on July 21, 1977, and received his commission on July 22, 1977. He served as chief judge from 1990–1995. He assumed senior status on June 11, 1995.
